Maryland and Washington, DC does recognize or reciprocate with any other state regarding their concealed carry permits. To conceal carry in MD, you must have a MD concealed carry permit (Handgun Permit or HGP). To conceal carry in DC, you must have a DC concealed carry permit (CCP). Although MD & DC does not recognize other state's concealed carry permits there are some states that do recognize MD & DC's permits, and you can legally conceal carry (Virginia is one of them).

MD residents are required to obtain a Handgun Qualification License (HQL) in order to purchase a handgun. Our MD Concealed Carry Course exceeds the training requirements needed for the HQL, so the one course would satisfy the training requirements for both. The HQL approval time is much shorter than the concealed carry approval, but if not in a rush to purchase a handgun, submitting and getting approved for your concealed carry before submitting for your HQL can save you $115 in fingerprinting and MD processing fees.  

 

 

Being NRA Certified and holding multiple state certifications, our courses satisfy the training requirements needed to acquire multiple state concealed carry permits (i.e., AZ, CT, DC, FL, MD, NJ, NY, PA, RI, UT & VA). Virginia recognizes most state's concealed carry permits with the exception of Florida's CCP, so you may not need a VA CCP unless you are a VA resident. Florida recognizes most state's CCP with the exception of VAs, so you may not need a FL CCP unless you are a VA resident.
